Iron ore slumps on weak demand

Seaborne iron ore prices were hit last week by a string of negative headlines, causing market transactions to die down. The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index inched down $4.67/t on Friday to $121.72/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index was $4.59/t lower from Thursday at $137.63/dmt cfr, while the KORE 58% Fe index lost $2.94/t to $113.82/dmt cfr.
