Iron ore slumps further near holiday
Seaborne iron ore prices fell on Wednesday as the Lunar New Year holidays are approaching and more steel mills cut production. Futures markets meanwhile also declined.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index and the KORE 65% Fe index lost $2.97/t and $1.24/t respectively on Wednesday to $132.63/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao and $146.51/dmt cfr. The KORE 58% Fe index meanwhile declined by $3.85/t to $122.32/dmt cfr.
