Iron ore slides but low grade ores win

Seaborne iron ore prices slipped slightly on Friday despite Chinese iron ore futures hitting a new record high. Low grade ores have also benefited from tighter steelmaking margins as port stocks continue to be depleted. The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index slipped $0.55/tonne to $107.68/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao.
