Turkeys iron ore imports grow further year-on-year in July
Imports of iron ore in Turkey increased by 51.2% year-on-year to 806,028 tonnes in July, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data. The average price of these imports dropped to $67/tonne from $111/t a year ago.
The rise in imports follows a 49% y-o-y growth to 974,707t in June after a -35.7% drop in May.
Brazil remained Turkey’s largest scrap supplier in July as its deliveries edged up by 1% on-year to 345,397t. …
