Iron ore records small gain despite Vale fire

Seaborne iron ore prices picked up slightly again on Monday after Chinese steel futures increased rapidly. A fire at Vale’s Malaysian facility, however, is not expected to support iron ore prices significantly. The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index gained $0.35/t to $87.57/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao.
