Iron ore gains as Morgan Stanley lifts forecasts
Seaborne iron ore prices jumped again on Tuesday as a continued increase in steel futures made up for weak trading. Morgan Stanley raised its price forecasts meanwhile, but still expects a very weak end to the year.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines jumped another $1.24/tonne to $52.84/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao on Tuesday. On Monday 100,000 tonnes of PB fines sold in tender at $53.17/t with a laycan in 6-15 July.
