Iron ore gains despite rumors
Seaborne iron ore prices jumped on Thursday as the steel market rallied, with open positions in rebar futures boosting sentiment.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index rose $1.79/t on Thursday to $129.19/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index hiked $2.13/t at $143.89/dmt cfr, and the KORE 58% Fe index surged $1.25/t to $116.59/dmt cfr. 170,000r of BRBF fines were sold at $132.1/t with laycan of 11-20 April.
