Iron ore stays flat on tax breaks
Seaborne iron ore prices barely moved again on Tuesday due to the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival. Miners were buoyed, however, by the apparent end to a proposed tax hike in Western Australia, while NASA says it will explore an iron deposit in space.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines drifted up $0.09/t to $58.49/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. On the Singapore Exchange June 62% Fe futures settled down $0.24/t at $57.76/t.
