Iron ore drops on production cut rumors
Seaborne iron ore prices fell on Thursday amid a weak steel market. Market rumors once again brought up production cuts for this year, and market expectations were under pressure.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index lost $1.08/tonne on Thursday to $120.7/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index declined $1.09/t at $135.63/dmt cfr, and the KORE 58% Fe index reached $0.35/t lower at $111.19/dmt cfr.
