Iron ore declines as Goldman lowers forecasts
Seaborne iron ore prices continued to fluctuate slightly on Thursday. Steel mills did not reduce blast furnace operating rates due to rumours of production restrictions, which in turn supported iron ore demand.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index declined by $0.24/tonne on Thursday to $104.27/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao, and the KORE 65% Fe index lost $0.31/t to $117.02/dmt cfr. Meanwhile, the KORE 58% Fe index decreased by $0.04/t to $96.74/dmt cfr.
