Electricity shortages could hamper Iran’s steel output growth
Tehran Regional Electricity Company has asked heavy industries, including steel companies, to reduce their electricity consumption by 80%, according to the Iranian Steel Producers’ Association (ISPA)’s online Chilan portal.
In a letter to customers, the energy supplier says it is authorised to cut off electricity supply if the consumption cut is not adhered to, with all consequences to be borne by the manufacturing companies.
