Iranian apparent steel consumption slumps, exports surge
Iranian electricity supply curtailment that started in the first week of July has affected industry across the country. In the five months through 22 August, apparent steel consumption decreased 21%; however, steel exports surged 51% versus the same period last year, according to Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) data.
