Iran, UAE drive Mid-East DRI output growth

Middle Eastern direct reduced iron production in the four countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report increased 14% on-year in March to 3.19 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. The region’s largest producer, Iran, is estimated to have increased production by 25.2% to 2.48mt in March when crude steel output is estimated to have grown 20% to 2.24mt.
