Iran, UAE buck falling output trend in July
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report fell for a fourth consecutive month in July, dropping -0.8% on-year to 3.21 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
This came despite output growth again in Iran, by 14% to 2.34mt. Iran’s January-July output growth was thus 11% to 16.23mt, as the country continues to buck the global trend of falling production as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic impact. …
