Iran spurs Mid-East steel output record in 2017
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report increased 10.4% on-year in December to 2.77 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. Regional output in 2017 thus grew 11.8% on-year to an annual record 32.45mt, although growth was outpaced by Africa and Other Europe.
