Iran, Saudi drive Mid-East production surge in June
Crude steel output in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report surged 14.3% on-year in June to 3.04 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from worldsteel.
Output grew in all countries for a second consecutive month, having not done so for some time prior to May. Iran lead the way with an estimated 16.5% growth to 2.08mt, taking January-June output up 25.8% on-year to 12.52mt.
