Iran props up Mid-East DRI output in April

Direct reduced iron production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report inched up 2% on-year in April to 3.24 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. The region’s largest producer, Iran, is estimated to have increased output 7.6% in April to 2.4mt, when crude steel output is estimated to have risen 2.8% to 2.17mt.
