Iran, India increase UAE import share, Turkey loses
United Arab Emirates imports under HS chapter 72 – comprising iron, scrap, ferroalloys, semi-finished products, flat and long products, wire and forged bars – grew 15% on-year in 2017 to 7.51 million tonnes. This is according to newly-published UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority data monitored by Kallanish.
This means UAE imported 1.87mt of chapter 72 steel in the fourth quarter compared to a quarterly-average 1.88mt in 2017.
