Iran carries Middle Eastern output in 2020
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report rose an estimated 2.8% on-year in December 2020 to 3.47 million tonnes, Kallanish notes, driven solely by Iran.
Iranian output is estimated to have risen 19.6% to 2.66mt, taking its full-year 2020 output up 13.4% on-year to 29mt.
