Iran carries Mid-East DRI output in April
Middle Eastern direct reduced iron production in the four countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report surged 23% on-year in April to 3.19 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The region’s largest producer, Iran, saw DRI output surge by an estimated 43% to 2.24mt, while its crude steel output that month is estimated to have grown 12.4% to 1.95mt.
