Inventories support tight Chinese steel market
Chinese steel futures prices fluctuated on sentiment on Thursday. Steel market inventories meanwhile have been trending down for both hot rolled coil and rebar for three weeks, Kallanish notes.
The May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,772/tonne ($563/t), CNY 5/t down from Wednesday, while the same contract of HRC rose CNY 4/t to CNY 3,692/tonne ($551/t), according to the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
