Intra-Asean steel trade grew to end-July
Over January to July 2016, intra-Asean steel trade volumes increased by 14% year-on-year to 1.73 million tonnes excluding data from the Philippines, according to the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (Seaisi). Total intra-Asean trade remained just 5% of Asean’s steel imports, Kallanish notes.
