Instability brings Turkish merchant bar exports to standstill
Instability and rapidly rising prices are seen preventing Turkish merchant bar producers from doing business.
Mills are keeping sales mostly closed or opening only for a very short period. Although most producers are refraining from giving offers amid rapidly increasing raw material prices, some were seen offering angles at $1,000/tonne fob Turkey on Friday. This is up from $800-815/t fob only ten days earlier.
