Input cost volatility seen pressuring Indian steel spreads
The volatility in input costs, mainly coking coal prices, is likely to keep Indian steel sector spreads under pressure the fiscal year through March 2018 (FY18), according to India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra).
Coking coal prices may soften in the near term following their recent surge on the Australian cyclone, but they are unlikely to correct significantly in FY18, the credit rating agency adds.
