Indonesia’s ferronickel production surges
Major Indonesian nickel miners produced 666,696 tonnes of ferronickel in the first half of this year, up 28.9% year-on-year, according to Yunus Saefulhak, director of minerals at Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
Production of nickel pig iron (NPI) in the six months through June was 418,955t, up 14.96% y-o-y, Kallanish notes.
