Indonesia’s Bukaka plans $2 billion nickel smelter
Bukaka Teknik Utama in Indonesia is investing $2 billion to build nickel smelters powered by hydropower, to link into the growth of the electric-vehicle battery industry, Kallanish learns from Bloomberg reports.
The plant is being constructed on the eastern island of Sulawesi to produce ferronickel, of which the capacity is expected to reach 33,000 tonnes/year.
