Indonesia hopes to earn $10 billion from steel exports
The Indonesian government expects to hit $10 billion of steel exports in 2020, according to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan (LBP).
This is expected to be achieved through an increase in export volume, even if the unit price of steel exports is relatively low, Kallanish notes. Pandjaitan said that although Covid-19 has been hitting domestic demand this year, exports have seen growth.
