Indonesia demand helps Indian billet exports surge
Indian semi-finished product exports, the majority of which were billet, surged 176% on-year in March to 509,049 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data. They also rose 64% from the previous month.
The average value of HS code 720719 billet exports was $520/tonne versus $396/t in March 2020 and $515/t in February 2021.
