India's coking coal imports rise, origins diversify
India’s coking coal imports rose by 19% year-on-year in the first half of 2024, reaching 31.4 million tonnes, according to vessel line-up data obtained by Kallanish from a reliable source.
This increase is attributed to higher crude steel production, as India remains heavily dependent on coking coal imports.
