India's Apollo Tubes sees long-term benefits of demonetisation
APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL) expects demonetisation to hamper India’s steel industry in the short term but, along with other government initiatives, will benefit the pipemaker in the longer run.
APL will by March 2018 commission 125,000 tonnes/year of ‘direct forming technology’ (DFT) hollow sections capacity at each of its sites in Sikandarabad, Hosur, Murbad and Raipur. The Hosur line will be launched by the end of this March.
