India’s annual coking coal production surges
Indian coking coal production grew 34% on-year to 7.1 million tonnes in March 2022 against 5.29mt produced a year earlier. This also follows a hike of 9.45% in coking coal production against 6.49mt produced in March 2020, Kallanish notes.
Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL) was the largest producer of coking coal during the period, producing 3.8mt against the monthly target of 3.16mt. Other major producers included CCL (3.26mt), SECL (0.03mt) and WCL (0.01mt).
