India’s Vedanta commences iron ore mining in Liberia
India-based Vedanta Limited Iron and Steel (VLIS) has started iron ore mining operations in Liberia through its subsidiary Western Cluster Limited (WCL), Kallanish notes.
The company says a ceremony was held at the Bomi iron ore mine on 8 June for commencing the mining operations.
WCL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bloom Fountain Limited (BFL), which is in turn a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vedanta Limited, Vedanta says.
