Indian steelmakers seek customs duty restoration amid imports
Back-to-back imports of flat steel into India have raised concern among Indian steel manufacturers, thus impacting market demand for their product. Consequently, the Indian Steel Association (ISA) is seeking to restore the basic customs duty from the existing 7.5% ad valorem to 12.5% for flat steel and 10% for long steel in the upcoming budget.
