Indian steel consumption upticks slightly as imports plunge
Steel consumption in India rose only slightly over the period April to July inclusive according to data released by the government’s Joint Plant Committee (JPC) for steel and monitored by Kallanish. Crude steel output and production for sale both saw bigger year-on-year increases, but import volumes plummeted, the data show.
