Indian scrap imports rise for consecutive month
Indian scrap imports rose for the second consecutive month in June, increasing by 16% month-on-month to 0.71 million tonnes, according to Kallanish calculations based on trade data.
The increase is attributed to restocking by Indian buyers in April and May, leading to a higher arrival of scrap in the past two months.
Like in May, the largest tonnage was imported from the United Arab Emirates in June, followed by traditional sources like the US and UK.
