Indian scrap imports surge on US, Belgium intake
Indian imports of ferrous scrap under HS code heading 7204 surged 28.3% on-year in May to 556,146 tonnes, driven by huge growth in intake from the US and Belgium, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry data.
Top supplier United Arab Emirates increased its supply by 47% to 93,983t, while the US followed with a 161% surge in supply to 72,734t. Intake from the UK rose 9% to 66,165t, imports from Singapore surged 76% to 49,474t and Belgium supplied 320% more…
