Indian scrap imports slump again in July
Indian scrap imports slumped drastically for a second consecutive month in July, falling -60% on-year to 278,066 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data.
The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $302/tonne versus $348/t in July 2019 and $311/t in June 2020.
Overall scrap intake fell from the US, United Arab Emirates and UK by -50%, -48% and -76% respectively to 51,149t, 35,473t and 21,382…
