Indian scrap imports slump again, Brazil-origin surge continues
Indian scrap imports slumped drastically again in June, as they had done in April before rebounding in May. Imports halved on-year to 302,835 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data.
The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $311/tonne versus $352/t in June 2019 and $316/t in May 2020.
