Indian scrap imports fall steeply again
Indian scrap imports fell steeply for a third consecutive month in August, by -48% on-year to 322,238 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data. This was however up from 278,066t in July.
The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $302/tonne versus $335/t in August 2019 and also $302/t in July 2020.
