Indian scrap imports fall again despite Canada-origin surge
Indian scrap imports fell again in February following their January and full-year 2020 slumps, by 3.6% on-year to 467,480 tonnes, Kallanish notes from Indian commerce ministry provisional data.
Largest supplier United Arab Emirates provided 10% less at 90,823t, while the UK and USA supplied 4% and 6% less respectively at 42,803t and 41,734t. Singapore also reduced its supply, by 17% to 29,053t, but shipments from Canada surged by 71% to 22,575t.
