Indian scrap imports drop again despite UAE supply
Indian scrap imports fell 6% on-year in January to 566,362 tonnes, following their 22% on-year slump in full-year 2020, Kallanish notes from Indian commerce ministry provisional data.
The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $361/tonne versus $294/t in January 2020.
