India’s January automotive production falls on sluggish demand
Indian automotive output plunged 19% on-year to 1,860,809 units in January, reports the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Output includes passenger vehicles (PV), commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycles.
Production, however, was up 5% on-year to 18,246,837 units during April 2021-January 2022, against 17,319,688 units produced a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
