Indian imported scrap demand remains sluggish amid monsoon
Indian demand for imported scrap continues to remain very slow, largely due to sluggishness in the construction sector caused by heavy rains, notes Kallanish.
Offers for shredded scrap from the US and UK/Europe are assessed at $410-415/tonne cfr Nhava Sheva, while buyers are seeking lower prices, at around $400-405/t cfr. Offers for HMS 80:20 from West Africa and the UK/Europe are at $385-390/t cfr.
