Indian HRC exports slump, billet surges in January
Indian hot rolled flat products exports slumped in January due to lower Vietnamese and United Arab Emirates demand, but shipments of billet grew, Kallanish notes.
Hot rolled flats exports fell 32% on-year in January to 269,185 tonnes. Most exported product – HS code 720839 – shipments fell 44% to 123,687t, with their average value at $566/tonne versus $424/t in January 2020.
