Indian HR flats exports fall despite Italy surge
Indian hot rolled flat products exports under HS code 7208 fell -14% on-year in October 2018 to 250,459 tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry data seen by Kallanish.
The main reason for this was a -81% slump in shipments to Vietnam to 21,157t. The reduction came despite a doubling in shipments to Italy to 65,103t and an almost seven-fold surge in exports to United Arab Emirates to 36,558t. South Korea also took in 30,930t versus zero in October 2017.
