Indian finished steel use inches up, imports decline
Indian finished steel consumption rose 1.4% on-year in the fiscal year through March 2020 (FY20) to 100.07 million tonnes, according to Joint Planning Committee (JPC) figures.
Bars and rods accounted for 39.72mt of consumption, up 10%, while hot rolled coil use fell -2.7% to 40.63mt, Kallanish notes.
