Indian exports surpass 1 million tonnes in September
Indian finished steel exports surged past 1 million tonnes in September, while imports continued their rapid ascent and domestic consumption growth failed to accelerate.
According to an Indian Joint Plant Committee (JPC) report seen by Kallanish, finished steel exports surged 70.6% on-year last month to 1.12mt, their highest monthly tonnage so far in the fiscal year beginning April. Domestic consumption grew 4% to 7.45mt.
