Indian consumption seen declining but prices firm
Indian finished steel consumption is forecast to decline -14-17% on-year in the fiscal year through March 2021 to 83-86 million tonnes, mainly impacted by a poor first half, says Care Ratings. However, domestic steel prices will be boosted by demand recovery and firm international prices in the second half thanks to increased Chinese stimulus-driven consumption.
