Indian consumption growth nears output, imports continue rise
Indian apparent finished steel consumption growth finally picked up in October, but imports also registered another increase.
According to an Indian Joint Plant Committee (JPC) report seen by Kallanish, apparent consumption grew 5.5% on-year last month – the highest monthly growth rate so far in 2017 – to 7.49 million tonnes.
