Indian budget seen benefiting steel industry
The impact of India’s new 2019-2020 budget will be moderately positive on the country’s steel industry, says credit rating agency ICRA. A planned INR 100 lakh crore ($146 billion) is to be spent on infrastructure up to 2024.
Around 50-60% of domestic steel consumption is driven by the construction and infrastructure sectors. Besides the infrastructure spend, India has lined up the construction of 1.95-crore rural houses in the next three years.…
